If you are thinking about getting this app I have some advice, DONT. My parent is super strict and never allows me to get an actual screen time, mind you I am almost a teenager and the most I’ll get is 1hr. Ever since this app was put on my phone I barely speak to him and don’t plan on doing so. This app never fails to ruin my day. If you really want to ruin your relationship with your kid then go ahead and download it. A better solution would be to just talk about screen time with your kid and not waste your money on this.

Everything has been an issue after cancelling and it’s impossible to talk to a real person. Their chat option online just continues to say “looks like something went wrong. Ticket not created, please try again.” No matter what you type. Email support doesn’t respond. We like you have to hard reset the phone just to get any access back. Save your frustration and don’t even bother.

To start the app already blocks millions of sites not suitable for under 18 and is a win. Location tracking and text content alerts, internet searches are also super helpful. This app allows cellphone use to be a positive tool and it protects our children from harmful content.

The idea is good but when you try to get rid of it it is nearly impossible,I got it for a little bit but after a while decided I didn't want to use it. When you try to delete you account they tell you that they will contact you to help you get rid of it, they never did that and when I tried to delete it it hid/got rid of all my apps. I had to login on a computer to get them back. It also prevented me from using some apps. It's a good app if you plan on never deleting it. I finally managed to get it off of my device but only after I looked up online how.

This app made all my games get deleted and I had done everything. I had 19 hours...Then it turned to 5 minutes!

I got it for my son but he started to hate the app and now we won’t talk to me and it has been 4 days without him talking to me not even one word. Never get this app it will ruin your child life and I hope this app gets remove from the App Store.

Hi, im a child writing this, and me and my friends keep trying to match profile pictures and names on discord, but it keeps saying there was an error! this never happened before this app was downloaded. anyone else having this issue?

It won’t let you in any app it’s so freaking annoying

There was a great feature that showed when a “device was in use “ and it was real time. This was so useful for a number of different reasons, but this feature was removed recently without an explanation. Please bring this feature back and share an update around why this great feature was removed.

I’ll literally kill whoever made this godamn app. Whoever made this app deserves to die..

My child has gone crazy and almost broke his phone and won’t talk to me

We used this app for a year (over a year if you count the trial period), on our iPhones and iPads. Pros: When it works, it's great. Blocks apps, logs kids out automatically when time finishes. Fairly easy to learn and use. Cons: The list just keeps growing, but the WORST part is how unethical this company is. We were charged $80 for an auto-renewal, but I had literally just been going in to cancel the plan as we discovered it doesn't work on Chromebooks (we've just acquired two for homeschooling and plan to use those more than iPads). I contacted support to ask for a refund as we can no longer use it, and they refused to issue a refund. There is literally no other way to contact them, and they've ghosted me. Other Cons: we are on iOS, but older devices. We were down to this app working on one device, as they don't allow updates on earlier iOS's. But even that one has so many glitches as to make it virtually useless. - New apps don't show up in the list of apps to block/allow for weeks. - Kids can turn off WiFi and viola--no time limits! - Apple only allows this to work via a VPN, and won't allow it to block Settings or Search--smart kids can find all kinds of things we don't want them to. - Virtually no customer service other than a chatbot and then very minimal response from live support - Even on the parent device, every time I leave the tab/app while waiting on support to respond, I have to log back in when returning. Dumb. This app has some potential, but needs major work to be worth the money they charge. And right now, they owe me $80, so they're not getting any more from me. I advise against it.

We love this app and have had it a couple of years now for all 3 of our kids. Helps particularly at nighttime to ensure that the ipads are automatically turned off and the kids get their proper rest.

It barely gives us good, clear instructions how to pair. It is confusing and frustrating.

I choose this app because I liked the free trial period to see if this app was what I was looking for. In the signing up process they flashed the options fast saying feee trial period but once clicked and begin the process my account was charged right away. No trial period and they won’t refund me. The app is worthless without connecting to your computer. Customer service was no help with refunding me either. I’ve now paid $80 for this app and it’s not useful.

I personally think it’s wrong to lockdown a teenagers phone. If a teenager searches something bad it shouldn’t tell the exact content they looked up it should just say that. Sometimes kids need a way to vent about issues, but how are they going to if their privacy is invaded. Being able to lock down apps or the entire phone is also unfair. I think time limits are a good thing if there 1-2 hours, or limiting game time is decent, but parents don’t deserve to see their child’s messages if they won’t show the child there’s either.

I’m a parent and I have tried many on these types of apps and this one was the worst. That’s because I could not delete it, why would I want to delete this app because it didn’t even work it’s so stupid.😡

It unorganized my apps and when it needs to be updated it doesn’t let me have my kids lox time and it won’t let me update it when I don’t have Kidslox time PLEASE FIX THIS!!!

Piece of garbage app. After I paid over $50 per month, a few minutes later I logged back into the app and the price was reduced by $15. The app doesn’t work. I never entered a password and I can’t install the data in settings. I want my money back.

I tried, and it’s so hard to use, and it’s almost impossible to work good, I prefer to use the control parents for iPhone, and the money it’s another problem, they difficulty to return my money back!

It’s a great concept, but still buggy. Almost everything I need to block, it’s requires me to get my child’s phone. Half the time when I go to turn her phone to locked mode, it’s tells me her phone is unavailable. Which I know it is because I have it in my hand and it’s on. Also, the GPS tracking has never worked. I have to rely on another app for that.

I hate this app it took away all my apps so not I have no games it makes my really mad and now I only use this app for calling and texting my friends I do not recommend this app but I can’t playyyy it makes me really mad so I HATE this app SO MUCH. Do not install . And , It is impossible to stop having where you can not play games even if you delete the app I’m warning you do not install unless you want your kid * if you want * to suffer DO NOT INSTALL

I have been trying to add my son’s new tablet for over two hours now. I have tried contacting customer service and I got AI and no help. The AP does not give me the option to put it into child mode. I spent a lot of money buying the life time subscription and I can’t confidently say it was a waste of money. I have been trying to find every way I can think to work around this problem and there is none. I tried pairing through the QR code and it keeps failing. It won’t even let me position the QR code into the camera before saying try again. I tried the link and it goes right back to the same app that only says enter the parental code on his tablet, where then of course I cannot link his tablet to my parental account. I am wasting my limited precious time off from a very stressful job messing with this app. Previous times I have reached out for help, the reception to help has been lukewarm warm at best and I still had to figure out the problems myself anyway. These problems always come up when I am dealing with setting up a new device. I am reasonably technological and pretty smart, but I am tired of wasting my life on this poorly designed application when I should just be spending it with my kids. They listen to me anyway when we tell them to stay off stuff, communicate what they are doing on screens and my daughter already hacked the not too complicated system anyway so it doesn’t really matter. I am just going with another app and continuing to teach them about online safety because they are going to grow up and they are out of my sight and on line plenty at friend’s houses anyway so it is what it is. Can’t kidlocks the world.

If you’re looking for something to turn there basic abuse on and off, this is the website. However, I have tried to block several things with it and it seems to just never work. You have to be able to hook it up to an actual computer to install the nudity watch, the Geo watch, etc.. It does not catch keywords or suspicious text. I thought this encompass more don’t waste your money. I am unpleased with it if I could get a refund, I would.

I can’t configure my daughters phone for a few days and I’m already paying 40 dollars

This has been a lifesaver. I love that I can control the amount of time my daughter spends on her phone.

Listen. Ever since the app has been installed, everything has changed. Its a VPN, so it thinks the device is in demo mode. For example, you cant download anything, you cant chat in game with your friends, and it gives you about half the time. It randomly disappeared from the device and locked it. This lock could be permanent, if you dont know what do do! PLUS, THE ACCOUNT GO HACKED!

It has locked me out of my device and won’t connect to child mode.

Why I hate this app this app removed every single app I had in my phone Im 12 and my mom put this on my phone and removed all of my apps I had a TikTok and removed it do you know how hard it is to get TikTok back ugh and ever move YouTube and ever moved Roblox ever moved everything that I have and it says I can’t get it back because of the app thank you

The parent and child devices mutually uninstalled this app, but the child device was left on child mode at the time of deletion. As a result, phone was stuck on child mode, wiping all apps, limiting search engines, and filtering content. If the Kidslox team could provide troubleshooting, it would be greatly appreciated.

I deleted it because after the free trial, it stopped working and sucked and I got a new app, and a few weeks later it appears back on my tablet without me downloading it, and I went to delete it Agian, then all my apps disappeared and I can’t get them back, I can’t download the app Agian, it wont let me, if you plan on getting this app please keep this in mind, I haven’t been able to unlock anything on my tablet

Kidlox is amazing my parents are using and it works well I am not complaining but it has some problems it has removed my widgets and deleted them completely and when I get my screen time back all the apps that I have been organized has been completely ruined please fix this kidlox and I will be very happy!

Hey, I’m rewriting this complaint because of a few reasons. 1. The app downloaded itself onto my phone more than once so I had the same app 3 times at once and it was eating my storage up 2. The app has been off my phone for almost two months and randomly today decided it wanted to download itself back onto my phone and shut down all my apps without being in my apps .. so there’s no record of that app currently being downloaded on my phone but it popped up anyways without a chance for me to fix it at all , I lost every app without a way of getting it back. What do I do

it ruined everything. my friends always hang up when i dont have time. to the owners of kidslox, PLEASE DELETE THIS APP.

Hi I’m the kid, I have been looking at these kid reviews saying it hacked me or it’s taking everything away and I think that’s wrong. The app is made for kids protection and to make sure the apps don’t hurt your mind. The reason kids say it’s making there time “shorter” is because they think it’s to minutes but they are actually using there minutes then checking and it does pass quickly. It’s a really good app for kids especially little kids. My parents have been using this app for over 4yrs and it hasn’t been doing anything wrong it’s doing its job perfectly and they are just mad. I think people should get this app if they want there kid to have protection, they also can do chores and activities to get more minutes. To all parents out there who are not liking this app maybe the reason you hate this app is because you can’t use the app right, the app can be also used for quality time with your children. If you think your children will hate you then don’t get the app. To the developers: good job handling with these people. Thanks to the people who are reading this and I hope you get the app.

This app is a complete disappointment. The features they advertise are either locked behind additional paywalls or don’t work as promised. What’s worse, what I thought was a one-time purchase turned into recurring charges without any clear explanation. Nowhere in the checkout process was this made obvious—it feels like a deliberate attempt to deceive users. To make matters worse, canceling the subscription is a nightmare. The option is buried deep in the settings, and even after following the steps, I wasn’t sure if it worked. Customer support was no help at all. This app is predatory and a waste of time and money. Do yourself a favor and avoid it—there are far better, more transparent alternatives out there.
