Parental Control App - Kidslox App Reviews

The kids lox app has lock us out of my son's iPad. The VPN is toggling on and off rapidly and won't allow an Internet connection. I am unable to delete the kids lox application since I can't get an Internet connection. Now I have a dead iPad because of the application. How do I fix this or remove this. Note it is not the wifi connection because the other devices in the home with kids lox all connect to the same wifi and function correctly.

Installed this today. My son already disabled and deleted from his phone. Looking for another option.

There were a few flaws initially but there have been many improvements in a short period of time. I expect that once they get the formula perfect, every parent will need this App.

I like this app. It makes it easier to get my kids off their iPads into the great outdoors. Easy to use, super effective in monitoring screen time and limiting access to child appropriate apps only. My only beef is that it sometimes takes a long time to switch modes...like 10-15 mins. This is particularly annoying for my kids when they are in lockdown mode and we want to switch to child mode. Still worth it though.

Have been searching an app like this that is not on a monthly payment model. I like how we can share the iPad and change that mode right away. thanks for letting us know about the icon fix. It is way better than having all the apps come back out alphabetically and out of the folders. I like how the app allows me to control the devices on different platforms. Wondering if you can extend his app to computer controls.

Much easier to use with the current update. Very simple and effective.

Kidslox works great and is super user friendly. I love the parental options especially the time limit controls. Everything from a push of a button from my iPhone. Plus I can control multiple devices from the one app! Ps my kids absolutely hate it, so I know its working beautifully lol.

I have to agree with others on this. In addition the explanations on YouTube are confusing and unnecessarily long. Would someone please tell him why we cant use it?

I really wanted to love this app, but it is the least intuitive, most unnecessarily complicated app I have used. Ive tried to configure it twice- once on the previous version and once on the current version-no go. Note to developers - simply make a mode that allows the tablet to be locked full time and then a quick unlock feature where the amount of unlocked time can be selected and at the end of the unlocked time, the tablet returns to locked mode. Also- have actual parents test drive the app. I find it hard to believe that anyone can actually set up working schedules and have the app do what they want.

I have been trying for weeks to get this app to work. I even waited for the new update hoping it would allow me to do the simplest of things which was limit screen time. But it malfunctioned or is poorly designed because I finally gave up and deleted this app. I hope Apple develops something soon. There is a need but this app doesnt do it.

With version 1 my sons phone and iPad were in child mode at night, then toggled back to parent mode when the schedule was over. Everything, including iconfixer, worked as expected. Now, with the 3-way option, my sons phone goes into lockdown mode as soon as a session ends. I dont want or need lockdown mode! Twice this week hes called me from school: once from class so he could access his Physics textbook on his iPad (Kindle app), and once for me to unlock his phone so he could access the online bus schedules. NOT a good situation. Iconfixer is still on his devices, but his apps keep ending up unorganized. I will try a different approach: seeing if I can have "child" mode as the default, then creating schedules for it to be in "parent" mode--where hell have access to everything, as I want him to have during the day. Hes 16 and out all day from 6am-5pm. I just use this program so hes not using the phone or iPad when hes supposed to be asleep. If this doesnt work Ill do whatever it takes to downgrade.

Does not support my daughters iPhone. Tried to get a refund on iTunes but it wont let me. Was about to delete it until developers speedy response. Before you decide youre unhappy, ask for assistance. Customer service goes a long way in my book. As a consumer nowadays it should for you too. I would love to use it later... And I will.

With 3 children ages 12, 10 & 6, I have been desperate to find an app that would work in sync with iPhone restrictions as well as help with limiting screen-time. This app is it!

This is one of the best apps for parental controls I have ever had, and I like the new 3-way toggle it works grate for our whole family. I cant wait until the new updates that are coming up next, this will make an already great app even better.

It isnt the same as the previous version but I have got it to work so now I can actually lock AND unlock my childs device remotely (move from Child to Lockdown and then back to Child mode).

This app has really been great! One time fee, works on multiple devices. We have an 8 and a 10 yo. They LOVE iPads. This allows us to stop screen time with no personal interaction with an app on our phone using a timer or immediate shutdown. The apps simply disappear on their device, and they are done. Eventually, they will figure out to turn off Wifi to stop the shutdown, but they are not there yet. Had one issue on one iPad that I resolved myself with their FAQ, before they emailed back within a few hours. Very helpful and responsive. I highly recommend.

Utter garbage. The mdm server(s) appear to be down or overloaded at the moment. This results in inability to switch controlled devices in/ out of child mode. I have three devices under management and two of them are stuck in "child mode pending" for the last 30 minutes. Also, by design under iOS even in locked mode some native apps are available- camera, mail, messaging. Lol- those right there are all naughty kids need. So to sum it up- great idea, lousy supporting infrastructure and iOS restrictions which render app somewhat useless.

This app is good for restricting access remotely and scheduling time frames for device usage. However, it doesnt limit aggregate time per day which is a significant oversight. Also, when you "lockdown" a device, it doesnt really appear to be locked down. You still have access to the iOS apps like Music, Mail, etc.
